Sherman Eger Inc. was founded in 1964 by – you guessed it – Sherman Eger, and they sold new and used automobiles. It officially became Eger Subaru-Suzuki in the early 2000s and the new owner, Greg Eger, was such an eager salesman that he (along with many other Subaru dealerships across the country) claimed to have the first Subaru dealership in the entire United States. This claim was later proven to not be true, but we still found this wild nonetheless! Below, you can see an ad that Eger Subaru placed in the Borough’s 2001 125th anniversary booklet. Car Zone as we know it today was incorporated in March of 2021, after the property sat abandoned for several years. Today it is a bustling place of car-buying action!
